Restaurant Design Concept

Pokawa is a creative restaurant design concept developed for the first Spanish location of the famous French poke restaurant chain. Situated on Barcelona’s Avenida Diagonal, directly facing the iconic L’illa shopping center, the project was conceived as an immersive and playful environment reflecting the vibrant identity of the brand.

From the beginning, the main challenge was to preserve Pokawa’s existing visual DNA while elevating the restaurant experience through INSAYN’s creative approach to interior design. The original brand colors, selected materials, and part of the furniture were maintained, then reinterpreted through bold geometries, dynamic shapes, and expressive spatial details.

The objective was not simply to design a restaurant, but to create a world where customers could immediately feel transported into the playful and energetic universe of Pokawa.

Shapes, curves, colors, and movement became central elements of the project. Every corner of the restaurant was carefully designed to create rhythm, visual interaction, and memorable customer experiences while reinforcing the youthful and social atmosphere of the brand.

Space distribution played a major role in the overall restaurant design concept. The layout was organized to support both functionality and experience, allowing the restaurant to operate efficiently while also encouraging customers to stay, socialize, and fully immerse themselves in the Pokawa environment.

More than a traditional dining space, the project was imagined as a destination where people could meet friends, relax, and connect with the brand beyond food itself.

Visual identity and atmosphere were essential throughout the project. Contrasts, colors, materials, and custom design elements were carefully integrated to create a fun and recognizable interior experience capable of leaving a lasting emotional impression on visitors.
