Modern workspace design project in Barcelona

KmZero is a modern workspace design project created for a young and fast-growing company focused on sustainability, innovation, and zero-waste solutions. More than a traditional office, the objective was to design a creative workspace that could also function as a showroom experience reflecting the company’s philosophy and energy.

As Michelle Lopez, co-founder, architect and interior designer at INSAYN, explains:

“KmZero was full of energy and wanted an office where people could truly experience the brand. A vibrant place where the team could feel motivated, inspired, and connected.”

The project focused on reorganizing the office layout to increase the number of workstations while maintaining flexibility, openness, and visual transparency throughout the space. Modular areas were introduced to create different atmospheres adapted to collaboration, concentration, informal meetings, and social interaction.

Since the company’s activity revolves around clean water consumption and sustainability, the entire interior design concept was inspired by the different states and movements of water. Colors, reflections, transparency, curves, and optical effects were integrated throughout the workspace to create fluidity and movement inside the office.

Electric blue became one of the central visual elements of the project, bringing energy and contrast into a multifunctional social area designed for eating, working, informal meetings, or even playing ping-pong. This flexible corner was conceived as a place where employees could disconnect during the day, strengthen relationships, and stimulate creativity beyond work itself.

Geometry plays a fundamental role throughout the office interior design. Angular furniture, curved lines, arches, and semi-transparent partitions create subtle visual separations while maintaining openness between the different zones of the workspace.

Additional colors such as soft lilac-blue and salmon tones were incorporated to reinforce contrasts and spatial identity inside the office. Semi-transparent polycarbonate dividers with wavy textures were specially selected to recreate visual effects inspired by moving water and light reflections.

Custom-designed furniture and carefully selected materials contribute to the playful and contemporary identity of the project while reinforcing the company’s sustainable positioning.

As Célia Antunez, co-founder and interior designer at INSAYN, describes:

“Geometry and materiality are essential in this project. Every curve, partition, and visual effect is directly connected to the concept of water and the atmosphere we wanted to create.”

This project reflects INSAYN’s approach to modern workspace design: flexible, experience-driven offices designed to inspire collaboration, creativity, and wellbeing.
